The Mercer’s Institute for Research on Ageing represents the research function of the Medicine for the Elderly Department in St. James’s Hospital. The Institute has an extensive commitment to research in age related diseases in areas such as memory, genetic, metabolic and endocrine and neuro-imaging and provides clinical services through its memory clinic function. The contract has been awarded to BAM Building Ltd & commenced on site this month. The building is 15,018 m2 providing clinical facilities, clinical support, 116 no. bed ward accommodation, research facilities, offices & administrative facilities.

Named after Peter Sutherland SC, the UCD Sutherland School of Law honours his achievements both as a UCD law graduate and on the world stage. Peter Sutherland opens the UCD Sutherland School of Law

University College Dublin has officially opened the first purpose-built university Law School in Ireland. Named after Peter Sutherland SC, the UCD Sutherland School of Law honours his achievements both as a UCD law graduate and on the world stage. Brick Awards Best International Project

Moloney O'Beirne Architects beat off stiff international competition to win the Best International Project at the UK Brick Awards. We picked up our award a a ceremony held in London last week. The citation read "The judges were most impressed with this entry as they felt it was well planned and is well designed for its purpose. The form and orientation of the building optimise solar penetration which is particularly important to the residents of this mental health provision" Thanks to our clients at the HSE & the Grangegorman Development Agency, the design team and contracting team at John Sisk & Son for the completion of such a successful project.

Arts Millennium Building NUIG

The extension to the Arts Millennium building at NUI Galway achieved substantial completion in April 2013. The building is now occupied and is use for the 2013 -2014 academic year.


RIAI Award - Best Health Building

Moloney O'Beirne Architects have won the Irish Architecture Award for the Best Health Building. The award is for the Phoenix Care Centre at Grangegorman, Dublin. We would like to thank all that were involved in the project including the Grangorman Development Agency and the HSE.

The HSE replacement facilities at Grangegorman are substantially complete. The client has occupied the building and Moloney O'Beirne Architects are completing the management of the loose furniture installation prior to full occupation in late February.
