The Phoenix Care Centre occupies the North Eastern corner of the Grangegorman Campus and provides a 54-bed replacement mental health facility for the HSE. The accommodation is arranged around two courtyards with the higher risk Intensive Care Unit at ground floor, a Continuing Care Unit for longer stay patients at first floor and a Respite /Rehab Unit at second floor.  The building form, with single, two and three storey blocks is designed to optimise the orientation and solar penetration into the courtyards and terraces, thereby ensuring that each patient category has access to pleasant, landscaped areas at all times.
