The School of Nursing in DCU houses a simulated learning environment, associated teaching facilities, offices and a restaurant facility. The site is of strategic important to the campus of Dublin City University with a landmark entrance created along Collins Avenue from where the campus would is seen as part of the suburban landscape. The use of section allows natural light penetrate deep within the plan throughout the building. The School of Nursing has been designed as a sustainable building, an architect and client driven feature of the brief. The building was designed to achieve standard air leakage requirement of Part L of the UK Building Regulations and when tested, achieved twice as good a result.
