Student Apartments, NUI Maynooth

The project consists of 540 study bedrooms with associated living, kitchen and bathroom accommodation on the new Campus at NUI Maynooth. The apartments generally consist of four, five and six bed units and are arranged around courtyards so that treble aspect is available to the living area.

A central pedestrian thoroughfare links the new blocks with the previous award winning student residences designed by Moloney O'Beirne in 1990. Animation along the pedestrian spine is provided through the articulation of each entrance and circulation core. These read as vertical beacons rhythmically penetrating the axial vista and provide another communication node linking the apartment blocks.
